Sam Wood + Yasseen Faik - ‘Love Thy Neighbour’
Love Thy Neighbour is a collaborative poster between American designer Sam Wood and London based designer Yasseen Faik. The number 24.5 million is the number of people in need of humanitarian aid in both Iraq and Syria. The arabic text roughly translates to ”Love Thy Neighbour”, a bible scripture often quoted by American Christians. Our aim was to subvert the meaning of the word Neighbour, referring to any human being in need of help. The green used is a reference to the Pan Arab flag and combination of the green and blue together is symbolic of planet earth.
